I created 'Handle with Care' with my friend Laurie Bayley-Higgins in 2021. We performed the play at Contact Theatre in 2022 as part of an artist residency at the theatre. The play blends film with live performance to tell the story of people searching for intimate connections in a digital world. Through a mixture of pre-recorded film and live video-feeds, we explore some of the difficulties people face trying to find love.
'Handle with Care' aimed to create an imaginative space for people to reflect on the digitalisation of our lives and relationships. The play's visible stage management welcomes the audience into the theatrical process, inviting them in as co-authors. During the dating profiles section of the show, the dating profiles are different each time and the app is scrolled through live on stage.
